Some of my early concept sketches of the character Sonora. Her portrait in my gallery has the character info in its description.
It's odd how Sonora came to be...almost a merging of three different ideas. My friend had for a long time been using a character specifically to define the love of music, so I decided I wanted one too, but never got around to creating one. Later the name Sonora kept floating in my head and I decided it was a good name to save for later. And, after that, I decided I wanted a goat character just for the heck of it. Since she lacked a name and a personality, I just snatched the ideas I had floating. I filled her with music and built her entire personality on that nature, and gave her the name Sonora, which fit oddly well given its allusion to sound.
I tend to think about personalities first, so the only thing left was to decide on her appearance. I particularly love designing clothing...and hair. Pretty simple this time - some well-fitting jeans and a ribbed shirt that also shows off those great shoulders of hers. The hair, obviously not so simple. And then there's that media player carrying a hulking terabyte of high-quality sound files. Talk about that love of music...
Would that be closer to the sense of "cute," or "awesome?"

And never forget that help may come From the most unlikely of quarters And success rest upon the shoulders Of those kept shadowed until the time of need.
Haha, that's what my sister said! After that I actually started drawing them smaller. I don't know what the big deal is, really. I've created several female characters and only two of them have large breasts. The others look much, much better with small ones. Not that I don't like big ones, mind you, it's just a design consideration.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Ignorance isn't bliss, it's damnation
Open your eyes to the world around you
It's more than the usual frustration
There's things in play you won't understand
Man's end is soon, Illuminati will ensure
But fear not, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand
